DC Power to Olympus PEN Camera DIY

Has any one tried to Google "DC Power to your Olympus Pen Camera"
Yes as many i did when my OEM Battery decided one fine morning not to work anymore !!
As alwasy it was pain to change battery mid way of a timelapse or a video shooting . So i said it is time to give a dead battery a try and this is what it looks .
As commercially there is no option for a Pen camera to have DC coupler nor does Olympus wants it . Not sure why a Mirrorless camera which consumes  much power than a Dslr ( as the visual is through a LCD screen ) does not want to have a DC coupler option nor there is any intention in the future , as no Slots for wire exit available in the battery compartment as compared to Panasonic

To Start ,I Sliced up the battery and all its components and found a Microprocessor on the top with a connector and soldered to it were 2 Li-ion batteries in parallel (Made from SONY !!!!)
I am very bad at  Electronic  as my hand deals with stethoscopes and thermometers than Resistors and capacitors
Shopping time now ----- Went to the only Electronic component Store at Phuket town and got some of the stuffs like a Step Down DC to DC Processor( Luckily the shop had a ready made one with variable power input and the Friendly owner adjusted for me the power to be at 7.8V a very nice gesture as i had no multimeter with me :-))
A Plastic box , some cables and a Female power jack , and put it all together

All put together as planned and resulted looking excellent , but the power on the conectors were absent as i had connected the '+' and the '-' on to the ends where the Li-ion batteries were priviously hanging on .
With a big FAIL with and all  sorts of permutation and combinations with connection on the microprocessor i finally wanted to give a try directly soldering the '+' and '-' ends on to the connector with the wires from the power supply and hoping not to brick my PEN camera .
Now with a power socket plugged into  the DC adapterand the Dummy battery in the Camera the only anxious moment was when the power is switched ON Seeing none of any  black fumes out and the LCD powering up BRIGHT and the Lense motor in acton and AF motor working brilliantly An Adrenaline rush was expected !!
SUCESS!!!!!!!

Now my options of a battery backup have doubled with an option to connect the power jack with any DC power source available for me , 12v Dc from my car or a carry on external battery pack , Wall pluged or even a solar battery!!
This was just a Try and no-where an alternative , and Iam not Responsible if you fry your PEN
